A Service Company
The "nature" of our business is reflected in our name. Our two part one word name was created to better reflect our business philosophy as local builders/stewards of the environment.

The first part of our name (Mayan) represents the creating, building, and maintaining aspect of our business. The Mayans of Central and South America were known for their extraordinary Architecture/Landscapes in extremely challenging environments (Jungles, Deserts, and Coastal).

The second part of our name (Sun) represents the "eye" that we keep on the impact our local projects have. We work with some of the most environmentally conscious Landscape Architects who believe as we do, in leaving a small foot print. We believe in working with Mother Nature... not against her... while remembering that we are all stewards of the land and bearing in mind that future generations depend on our making the right decisions today.

We believe in acting locally, while thinking globally. To that end we maintain, as an environmentally conscious entity, support for a variety of organizations from the NRDC (Natural Resources Defense Council) to The Nature Conservancy. We try to care for the environment by minimizing chemical use, stopping erosion, improving drainage, and trying to improve the landscape in whatever small way we can - all with a close eye on how it will impact the "global" area around it.

When you ask us to help you with your projects, you are not just asking us to do a great job - you are asking us to keep an eye on the environment as well as to protect the future, and we take that responsibility very seriously.
